Senator Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant hosted a free Veteran’s Breakfast on Wednesday October 18th, at the Plainfield American Legion Marne Post 13. Representatives from the Attorney General’s Military and Veteran Bureau, Homes for Heroes, the Kendall County Veterans Assistance Commission, Military Mama Network and the Will County Veterans Assistance Commission were on hand to discuss services and programs that they provide.
Dr. Daniel Braverman, Hospital Director, for the Edward Hines Jr. Veterans Administration Hospital, was the special guest speaker for the event. Dr. Braverman, an Iraq War Veteran, has put a priority on making Hines the Flagship of the Veteran’s Health Administration, since taking leadership in 2016.
Lauren Staley-Ferry, candidate for Will County Clerk, attended the breakfast, as a volunteer. “It was a great morning helping out at Senator Bertino-Tarrant’s Veteran’s Breakfast! I was honored to be a part of such a nice event. I really enjoyed meeting so many great people who served our Country.”
Staley-Ferry continued, “Thank you for hosting, Senator Bertino-Tarrant, and thank you Veterans, for your service.”
