At HSBC, Lauren coordinated a program for Make -A-Wish in which Lauren along with her coworkers provided funding to grant wishes for Chicago Area families.
In 2013, she worked with a group of local women to organize the Wish Upon a Star Diamond Dash 5k race. Subsequently Lauren joined the Executive Board for the Wish Upon a Star organization, and served until 2015.
From 2014 until 2016, Lauren was the relationship lead for CapitalOne with Windy City Habitat for Humanity. In this position, she recruited and scheduled volunteers to assist with builds in the Chicago area. She also put on her hard hat and gloves to participate in building homes for the program.
Lauren has continued to try to do more since being elected to the Will County Board in 2014. She attended the Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce’s Community Leadership School. She is a member of Zonta International (Empowering Women through Service & Advocacy). She is an Executive Board Member for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Will and Grundy Counties. She also serves on the Executive Boards of the Spanish Community Center in Joliet, and the Heritage Corridor Convention and Visitors Bureau.
She further supports community organizations by attending community and neighborhood events regularly. Whether it’s a night out supporting a good cause or running a 5k race in the same vein, Lauren has made giving back a priority.
